The role: As a result of expansion we're excited to offer a newly created Charge Nurse Manager position. This role will lead the staged opening of a new short stay unit (SSU). The SSU incorporates pre and post cardiac investigations unit (CIU), and post op Surgical Patients from day stay to 48 hours length of stay. This is a permanent 1.0 FTE role working work primarily Monday to Friday days.
About us: We're part of the Healthcare Holdings Group of companies and we're New Zealand's largest private surgical facility with 25 theatres across 3 sites. Our surgical specialties include: Orthopaedic/Spinal, Head & Neck, ENT/ORL, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Colorectal/Gastro, Gynae, Urology, Neurology, Oncology, & reconstructive Plastics (incl free flaps). Our clinical services include ICU & HDU.
About you. Our preferred candidate will have the following skills and experience:
NZ Registered Nurse with a current APC
Postgraduate qualification in a relevant clinical area
Leadership qualification, or willingness to complete one
Both Cardiology & surgical nursing experience
A strong understanding of the model of care required for day stay and short stay patients
Experience leading and managing a team
Business acumen with the ability to manage a budget
A hands on approach to promote the delivery of clinical excellence
Positive energy with the ability to collaborate and develop win/win relationships with our specialists and the wider multidisciplinary team
Advanced technical skills and hopefully, experience using TrendCare
