The Company
My client is New Zealand’s exclusive distributor of Honda products, which they distribute through a nationwide dealer network. Alongside their popular farm, road and off-road motorbike range, they have an extensive Marine and Power Equipment offering of products, including outboards, stationary engines, generators, pumps and lawn mowers.

The Opportunity
A brilliant career opportunity exists for an experienced, easy-going but hard-working individual to join their close-knit team. This is not a call center position, but a Dealer Support role where you will be responsible for providing a high level of Customer Service, building long-term relationships with the company’s clients and dealer network.

You will be processing customers’ orders, tending to customer enquiries, problem solving and giving technical advice. You will need to be able to quickly pick up and identify parts, their numbers and their codes. You will be processing orders for whole goods, parts and returned products and resolving any supply and pricing queries.

Experience in a technical/ mechanical environment will be highly welcomed. (A mechanical parts or marine background or experience working with small machinery stationery engines.... would be hugely beneficial).

The Role in More Detail

  • Provide a high level of Customer Service, building solid relationships with all customers.
  • Process parts and whole good orders and resolve any queries regarding supply and price.
  • Assist customers with any technical queries and issues. Find appropriate solutions.
  • Process credits and resolve issues related to returns.
  • Attend Trade Shows, Boat Shows and/or Field-days as required.
  • Ensuring the correct part for the purpose, working closely with the technical department
  • Continuously upskilling to ensure high level of knowledge across the range.
  • Process stock transfers as and when required.
  • Procure non-stock items when required, communicating when stock levels are low or indent where appropriate.


About You:

  • A parts, technical customer service, or warranty background would be beneficial
  • Strong technical understanding, preferably from a mechanical background
  • Ideally has some experience working with a dealer network.
  • Responsible work habits. Ability to take initiative and work unsupervised.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive attitude, able to work independently and under pressure.
  • Good diagnostic skills and a logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Systems oriented, with good MS Word and Excel.
  • A commitment to teamwork and co-operative work practices.
  • Keen to continue to upskill and learn about the products.
  • Able to multitask across all product ranges – Motorcycles, Marine and Power Equipment
  • Able to transfer technical knowledge to a practical environment.
  • Enjoys a laugh or two, adding to a positive, supportive, and friendly team environment.
