What you'll do:

As a Health Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner, you will play an integral role in fostering a culture of safety throughout the organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve working closely with business unit managers to enhance the health and safety standards across all operations. You will be instrumental in developing comprehensive training programs that cover both mental and physical wellbeing. Regular site inspections will form part of your routine as you strive to identify potential hazards before they become issues. Your expertise will also be crucial in managing emergency response plans and liaising with regulatory bodies.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business unit managers, providing guidance and support to improve the health, safety, and wellbeing of their teams.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to develop and implement effective health, safety, and wellbeing policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive health, safety, and wellbeing training programs for employees.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, site inspections, and incident investigations to identify potential hazards.
  • Oversee the implementation of occupational health programs and initiatives to promote employee wellbeing.
  • Manage emergency response plans, conduct regular drills, and liaise with regulatory bodies regarding health, safety, and wellbeing matters.


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Health Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner role is someone who brings a wealth of experience in health and safety management. You should possess exceptional interpersonal skills that enable you to build trusted relationships at all levels within the organisation. A flexible approach is essential as this role involves nationwide travel. Your meticulous attention to detail will ensure that nothing slips through the cracks in our quest for a safer workplace.

  • Level 4 or above H&S certificate / qualification from a recognised provider
  • A coaching mindset with a genuine desire to help people achieve solid outcomes.
  • Proven experience in implementing effective health and safety systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be based in or willing to relocate to Palmerston North
  • Ability to travel nationwide, including overnight stays and flexible with work hours.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety management.
  • Valid drivers licence
  • A background in construction, concrete manufacturing or quarrying would be highly advantageous
