We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Class 5 driver to join our team in a curtain sider unit. Usual days of work are Monday – Friday, early morning starts. Hourly rate is negotiable based on the individual and experience.
The ideal candidate will need the following:
Manage curtain-sider truck and trailer.
Maintaining a clean and valid Class 5 New Zealand driver's license
Fill out the logbook correctly and understand logbook guidelines
Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading
Loading and unloading vehicles using lifting devices
Observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles
Making regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely
Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight
Reversing the truck and trailer confidently
Ensuring goods are stowed and secured correctly
Verify loading documents, checking the condition of goods and obtain certification for deliveries
Keeping the vehicle clean and keeping proper hygiene
Must be flexible and prepared to do metro or linehaul shifts
