What is Microsurfacing?
Microsurfacing is one of Downer’s key pavement preservation capabilities. Microsurfacing provides pavement shape correction and a quiet and smooth riding surface with similar aesthetics to asphalt. It is applied at ambient temperature, reducing carbon emissions and allowing a rapid return to normal traffic flows. As a further benefit, reflective pavement cracking can be reduced by up to 30% through the use of fibre-reinforced Microsurfacing.

Microsurfacing is hitting the ground in New Zealand with Downer Transport & Infrastructure this year. As such, Our Penrose team are looking for a physically fit and motivated person to join lead our new crew as the Foreperson. You will be running paving operations and directing the crew.

Along with a positive attitude and a commitment to safe workplace practices, we are looking for you to have:
- Class 2 Full New Zealand Drivers Licence with WTR endorsements
- An uncompromising focus and commitment to safety and environmental management, with experience in hazard identification and risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem – solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records
