We are seeking an innovative curious and high performing individual to support the delivery of stress testing. Reporting to the Senior Stress Test Manager, this senior role will be responsible for supporting the delivery of meaningful forward-looking stress test outcomes, analysis and insights for Westpac.

Mō te tūranga | About the Role
Key responsibilities in your new role include:

  • Support the Stress Test Managers by following the process and policies required to perform stress testing including the validation, analysis and documentation of 'what if' scenarios and modelled outcomes, and the review and/or use of models.
  • Ensure a close connection between the Quantitative Risk Management team, the wider Risk Analytics team and business units across the bank to enable meaningful 'what if' scenarios and results for stress tests
  • Be the subject matter expert for stress test queries.
  • Build a professional and friendly rapport with a wide range of senior contributors to stress testing.
  • Act in accordance with internal policy, standards and practices.
  • Upkeep, maintenance and alignment with stress testing controls and procedures


Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • Experience within the financial services industry, with data management expertise
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to tailor style and content or communication to the needs of the audience.
  • Chartered Accountant or tertiary qualification (Accounting, Economics, Quantitative or similar fields) with experience in external accounting, forecasting, modelling and analysis.
  • SAS, SQL, R, VBA, Python, Matlab, PowerBI experience preferred, but not essential
  • Understanding of IFRS 9/Credit IRB working elements.
  • Advanced data handling, manipulation and visualisation skills
