Technical Sales
Location: Albany - Auckland
Reports to: Managing Director
Salary: $100 - $110k

About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Sales professional to join their team. This is a key role where you’ll be responsible for driving sales, fostering strong client relationships, and offering expert technical knowledge and solutions for our range of products and services. You will work with both existing clients to grow sales and develop new business opportunities, with the aim of increasing market share and profit margins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Review and reconnect with past clients to reclaim lost business and improve sales.
  • Understand customer processes and offer technical expertise to enhance their business growth.
  • Provide regular progress reports to the Managing Director on sales opportunities and developments.
  • Prepare and submit formal quotations and tenders based on customer specifications, assisting with contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers to ensure all required documentation is available for pumpset builds, testing, and engineering data.
  • Set and work towards sales goals and targets, ensuring consistent achievement of KPIs.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring client expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records and documentation.
  • Actively participate in company health and safety practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.


Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in technical sales, preferably in the industrial or pump sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of pumps and related systems, with the ability to offer informed and practical solutions to clients.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organised with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and achieving sales targets.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a customer-first attitude.
  • Flexible and willing to travel within the South Island and occasionally to the North Island.
