THE ROLE:

As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the operational efficiency of our Palmerston North factory. You’ll be part of a close-knit team of Maintenance Engineers and Electricians, rich in knowledge and experience, ensuring plant and equipment reliability while resolving breakdowns efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Technical Support: Maintain and ensure the availability of plant equipment and tooling. Support contractors and carry out scheduled and project work within set timeframes and budgets.
  • Manufacturing Excellence: Enhance machine reliability and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to align projects with company goals.
  • Safety: Demonstrate commitment to safety by adhering to policies, reporting incidents, and fostering a safety-first culture.


ABOUT YOU:

  • As well as a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and be part of a bigger team, you will have:
  • Trade qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Manufacturing experience, with exposure to principles like 5S or similar preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Pragmatic, innovative, and adaptable mindset.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
  • Demonstrated resilience, reliability, and organisational ability.
  • Able to work on-call once every 5 weeks on roster. Usual hours are Monday to Friday with flexibility around start time, and on the 5th week, you will work Monday to Monday, with additional on-call pay allowances (and an extra 2 days off during that following week)
