At Compass Group we have partnered with Air New Zealand as one team to create an incomparable lounge experience that people value and remember. We are looking to build our team in our Air New Zealand Lounge at Auckland Airport, and are now looking for enthusiastic Chefs to work on a Casual Basis. Hours of work are "as and when required" basis

Our Chefs are at the very heart of what we do. Hundreds of thousands of people around New Zealand rely on us every day to provide their breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

  • The Buffet Chef is present for opening and closing of the buffet, is available for guest assistance, to maintain food quality and safety throughout service.
  • Check food quality, prior to leaving the kitchen and while on the buffet, ensuring culinary specifications and standards are met.
  • Provide a warm, friendly and welcoming style of service to all customers.
  • Focus on Mana-aki-tanga: Hospitality, kindness and support
  • Work effectively in a team
  • Be able to lift up to 20kg

  • Providing outstanding service, developing opportunities to retain and win business
  • Supporting our people to achieve their potential and deliver results for the business
  • Demonstrates a positive and flexible attitude to change
  • Previous experience in a catering environment
  • Holding a NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168)
