About the Role

Managing a team of 16 Technicians and working alongside the Service Manager and Workshop Foreman, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the workshop. A strong knowledge in technical diagnosis, general vehicle repairs and electrical systems is a must. Meeting customer expectations and timelines is a must, ensuring your team complete high quality repairs carried out within the quoted prices. Having robust processes and standards to ensure the workshop runs like a well oiled machine. You will have a good understanding of productivity and efficiencies of your technicians. You will have a proven track record of success in a leadership role and staff development as you will be responsible for apprentices right through to master technicians. Some experience in European Vehicles would be a huge asset, but not a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations, including resource coordination and workload allocation.
  • Implement and oversee the workshop system for efficient job management and recording
  • Manage, motivate, and develop the team through effective coaching.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health and safety compliance and promote a culture of safety within the team
  • Foster positive relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and customers


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Trade qualified Automotive Technician
  • Proven experience in managing a mechanical workshop, with a focus on quality and excellent customer service
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of motivating and managing teams
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Competent computer skills and a full, clean Driver's License
