Job Description

About the Role:
This is a key role where you'll take the reins on all things financial and QS-related across the business. You’ll be leading a small team, managing the QS/Estimator, and ensuring all tenders are completed on time and to a high standard. This is your chance to shape the future of the company, with a clear path to a leadership role and even potential for Director-level responsibilities.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and Manage: Oversee the QS/Estimator, making sure they have everything they need to succeed.
  • Tender Management: Own the tender spreadsheet—ensure tenders are accurate, on time, and follow up with clients. Negotiate when necessary.
  • Project Oversight: Handle all QS and contract admin tasks across projects, making sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
  • Financial Leadership: You’ll be in charge of the entire QS/financial side of the business.
  • Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients, making sure their expectations are met and exceeded.

What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone with a background in commercial construction—ideally main contractor or sub-contractor experience. Interiors experience would be a real plus, but we’re not looking for someone from residential. You’ll be ambitious, ready to take on a leadership role, and comfortable managing the financial side of things.

  • Skills: You’re organised, a strong communicator, and comfortable with Cost X, ProCore, and the Microsoft Suite.
  • Traits: You’re proactive, have a strong sense of ownership, and can manage projects and people effectively.
  • Ambition: You’re looking to step up into a senior leadership role and have the drive to help grow the business.

Why You'll Love It Here:
This isn’t your typical corporate gig. The team values flexibility and a healthy work-life balance. You’ll have the option to work from home one day a week and take time for family commitments as needed — school holidays included. They also know how to have fun, with regular social events like social basketball teams, an annual Christmas party, and even a trip to an All Blacks game once a year. Plus, you’ll be part of the leadership team and invited to the annual leadership dinner out.

  • Salary: $120K - $150K + vehicle.
  • Flexibility: Work from home options and understanding around family commitments.
  • Culture: Collaborative, supportive, and fun. They work hard but know how to enjoy themselves too.
