As the Head of Enterprise Architecture, you will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-wide architecture mapping to business capability model that supports Downer Digital’s strategic and operational objectives.
This role requires expertise in enterprise architecture principles, frameworks and standards, IT strategy, and business processes, as well as strong leadership and communication skills to develop current state architecture including technology roadmap to move to the future state. Working closely with senior management, business stakeholders, and IT teams, you will develop and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, and roadmaps to guide technology investments and ensure alignment with business goals. This position is a full-time permanent role that can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Architecture Strategy: Develop and communicate a comprehensive enterprise architecture strategy that aligns with the organization's business goals and objectives. This strategy should encompass technology standards, principles, and guidelines to ensure consistency and coherence across all IT systems and applications.
- Lead Architecture Planning and Design: Lead the planning and design of the organisation's enterprise architecture, including defining architecture principles, frameworks, and reference models. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into architectural solutions and ensure that they meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Governance and Standards Enforcement: Establish and enforce architectural governance processes, policies, and standards to ensure compliance with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and security protocols. Monitor adherence to architectural guidelines and provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure alignment with the architecture strategy.
- Technology Evaluation and Selection: Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the organization's architecture. Lead the process of selecting appropriate technologies and tools that support the organization's strategic objectives while considering factors such as scalability, interoperability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Enterprise-wide Integration: Oversee the integration of disparate systems and applications to facilitate seamless data flow and information sharing across the organization. Develop integration strategies, middleware solutions, and data exchange protocols to enable real-time access to critical business information and improve operational efficiency.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Identify and mitigate architectural risks associated with technology investments, such as system vulnerabilities, data breaches, and compliance issues. Develop risk management strategies and contingency plans to minimize the impact of potential disruptions on business operations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of enterprise architects responsible for various aspects of architecture planning, design, and implementation. Provide direction, guidance, and professional development opportunities to ensure that the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to succeed in their roles.
Qualifications
10+ years’ experience in an enterprise architecture role, with a track record of successfully designing and implementing enterprise-wide architecture frameworks, policies, guidelines and standards in alignment with overall business and digital strategy in complex organisations.
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field Degree (Preferred); advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, CISSP, Zachman Framework, and Certified Enterprise Architect (CEA); Master’s
