Job Description
Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
Spotless a Downer Company has a contract with the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) for Facilities Maintenance and Management in the Central Region of the North Island encompassing activities at the three main bases: Linton Military Camp, RNZAF Base Ohakea and Waiouru Military Training Area, the National Army Museum, and several satellite sites where we deliver a suite of services to support Defence capability. We currently have an opportunity for a Grounds Person based at Linton Military Camp.
Our Grounds teams play a key role in delivering services to our customer in a timely, safe, quality, and cost-effective manner. Our Grounds teams are responsible for the maintenance of camp/base grounds and delivery of grounds services to specification.
Duties for a ground’s person include, but are not limited to:
- Mowing.
- Litter removal
- Weed eating
- Weeding
- Weed/lichen spraying
- Curb and gutter cleaning and maintenance and plant & equipment maintenance.
Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills
- Appropriate grounds industry experience.
- Experience with various types of machinery and equipment – tractors, mowers, vehicles, and small plant.
- Knowledge of the Health and Safety
- Be physically fit and conditioned and agile.
- Be a good communicator
- Class 1 Driver’s License, HT licence and WTR an advantage
