Is a well-established locally owned and operated company based in Otago and Southland, with branches in Queenstown, Cromwell, and Invercargill.
They specialise in civil contracting, delivering a range of services including subdivision construction, bulk earthworks, roading, drainage, infrastructure, and site works.
They are looking for a full time, permanent Intermediate Engineer to be based in their Invercargill branch working around Invercargill and the Southland District, Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday if required
The Role
Efficiently and effective management of contracts and assigned staff
Complete civil construction projects in accordance with design specifications
Plan construction methods and ensure delivery is both safe and efficient.
Carry out operations in such a way so as to minimise our impact on the environment
Day to day running and administration of project is effective
Job records are captured, and invoicing is correct
Ensure work is adequately controlled and supervised to meet the requirements of the customer, job time and cost budgets
Manage the preparation and implementation of contract quality plans
Oversee or complete testing as required by Quality Plans
Complete programmes for contracts and monitor their completion to ensure they are completed in the agreed time frame.
About You
A relevant qualification such as a BE, National Diploma in Engineering, NZCE.
A current Drivers Licence.
5+ years civil engineering experience within New Zealand (but not essential for the right candidate).
A history of delivering projects to meet time, quality, and safety; as well as customer expectations.
Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and relate to people at all levels
Experience managing engineering projects within a contracting environment.
Contract management, budget preparation and financial management skills.
In addition, you should have excellent relationship development and networking skills; be a strong communicator, a self-starter, and be able to work effectively under pressure.
