Our client is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Payroll Analyst to join their team. This role is an integral part of the transformation of the healthcare system in Aotearoa, New Zealand, aiming to create a reformed system where people live longer in good health, have improved quality of life, and there is equity between all groups. As a Payroll Analyst, you will be at the forefront of this change, ensuring that payroll systems are compliant with the Holidays Act 2003 and contributing to a culture that enables everyone to bring their best to work. As a Payroll Analyst, your primary role will be to ensure that our client's payroll systems are compliant with the Holidays Act 2003. You will be involved in every step of this process, from analysing payroll data and assisting with solution development, to supporting the configuration and testing of a new compliant system. Your analytical skills will be crucial in interpreting MECAs and IEAs, providing technical support to the remediation team, and identifying process changes for future state compliance. Your contributions will not only ensure legal compliance but also contribute to the overall success of our client's transformative healthcare project.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Lead in developing detailed project plans
Analyse payroll data and assist with solution development for compliance
Interpret MECAs and IEAs and provide technical support to the remediation team
Support the payroll systems work stream with configuration and testing of a new compliant system
Identify and document process changes for future state compliance
Provide technical support and advice to the remediation team as required
Contribute to sub-groups for specific task delivery such as Terminated employee process, PAYG employee, etc.
Key Requirements:
Successfully completed secondary education
Testing/analytical ability with problem-solving skills
Experience in processing complex payrolls in excess of 1,000 employees ideally with experience of working with MECAs and IEAs
Sound understanding of New Zealand employment legislation especially Holidays Act
Intermediate user of Microsoft products esp. Excel, Word & Outlook
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
