We are seeking a super star Business Advisor at Associate / Senior Associate grade at PwC Hawke’s Bay. In this role you'll work with a diverse range of clients, assist with complex and varying issues as well as provide clients with annual compliance support. Experience constant variety in your role and seize opportunities for career development, as you contribute to the region's economic landscape. We are looking for someone whose experience will enable them to hit the ground running.

You will be working with a vibrant and supportive team, one that embraces change and has a track record of adopting different ways of working, including use of generative AI.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the wider team with providing expert advice on accounting and tax matters to a diverse client base, offering tailored solutions that align with their unique needs.
  • Assist organisations in identifying risk areas and sustainable planning opportunities throughout the tax life cycle, ensuring compliance and maximising tax benefits.
  • Prepare technical accounting and tax compliance work, including tax returns and statutory financial statements.
  • Build solid relationships with clients and become a key contact and trusted advisor for them.
  • Engage in the planning and execution of multiple projects with precision and efficiency, delivering exceptional results for our clients.


Ngā pūkenga kei a koe / Skills and experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Commerce / Accounting degree
  • 2/3+ years of experience at a Big 4 or second tier CA environment, demonstrating a solid foundation in accounting and New Zealand tax legislation.
  • Proficiency in preparing tax and accounting compliance documents, including tax returns and financial statements. A particular interest in tax, and experience with tax effect accounting, is desirable but not essential.
  • Understanding of software tools such as Xero, Excel and data analytic tools: utilising technology to deliver efficient solutions.
  • Strong ties to Hawke's Bay or willingness to relocate is essential.
  • Growth mindset with strong problem-solving skills and acute attention to detail.
