Job Description

HealthCare NZ is a leading provider of in-home and community-based health, rehabilitation, nursing, mental health and disability support. We are currently looking for empathetic and passionate Support Workers to work within our specialist team. Our teams are our greatest asset, and we are committed to employing and training the best people. We are looking for energetic and motivated people to support people in their own home.

We are looking for Support Workers to work in Kaikoura.

What does a Specialist Support Worker do?

You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can vary, and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

  • Meal preparation
  • Community outings and integration
  • Giving medication
  • Personal cares (showering, toileting etc.)
  • Bowel management stage 3, Manual Handling and Hoist transfers
  • Home management

What are we looking for?

  • Attitude - a desire to help and support others, achieving excellence in all you do!
  • Previous healthcare or care-giving experience is desirable, although not essential
  • Excellent communication skills and flexibility to work alternative weekends.
  • Healthcare qualifications are advantageous
  • Most positions require a full NZ drivers' licence and your own reliable transport
