The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Kaiako to join our team at Melville Kindergarten, 5 Trigg Place, Hamilton. Located in a low decile community, our kindergarten plays a vital role in supporting tamariki and whaanau.

We are looking for someone who can bring energy, fun and are committed to equitable outcomes for all tamariki. Experience working in a similar environment or working with priority leaners. This is a rewarding and challenging role, as you will make a real difference in lives of tamariki and their whaanau.

You will be working full time, 8 rostered hours per day, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm.

About You
You are a passionate and dedicated Kaiako who brings:

  • Resilience and a positive attitude
  • A great sense of humour
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • An open-minded, flexible and creative approach to teaching


You will also have

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching level 7 (ECE)
  • Current Teachers Registration
  • A current First Aid Certificate.
