A leading client in the manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced Production Planning Controller to take ownership of their production planning processes and systems. Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling:
Develop and optimize production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and reduced lead times.
Monitor manufacturing processes, quickly address delays, and adjust schedules to overcome bottlenecks.
Leverage technology to communicate plans effectively across teams.
Process Improvement:
Continuously review and refine planning processes using Lean principles. Enhance operational throughput, minimize waste, and maximize product quality. Inventory & Master Planning:
Oversee master planning functions to ensure raw material, component, and work-in-progress levels are balanced.
Support sourcing and purchasing teams with accurate, timely data for both short- and long-lead items.
Job/Sales Order Management:
Ensure accuracy of system data for informed decision-making.
Manage key processes to maintain cost control and facilitate smooth job closure.
Import/Export & Compliance:
Maintain customs and compliance standards (MPI/TFO), manage audit schedules, and handle import/export planning efficiently.
Negotiate freight agreements and manage logistics to keep costs minimized and quality upheld.
Reporting:
Track production metrics and provide regular performance updates.
Assist in the development of tools to improve operational tracking and decision-making.
Candidate Profile
Experience:
Proven track record in production planning, scheduling, and inventory management within a complex manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with managing multiple product variants is essential.
Technical Skills:
Strong IT skills with proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, Power BI, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel expertise is a must).
Analytical & Organisational Skills:
Excellent analytical capabilities with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build productive relationships across sales and operations teams.
Additional Qualities:
Adaptable, resourceful, and a true team player who thrives in a dynamic environment.
Experience with customs/MPI compliance and TFO is advantageous.
