We’re committed to providing exceptional support services for our clients and looking for an experienced, flexible and outgoing Female Support Worker to join our team on casual basis to work with one of our clients having Autism and AL Exposure Sodium Valporate Teratogen, based in Dunedin.
As a Support Worker, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with unique needs contributing to their overall wellbeing to lead fulfilling lives.
Key Requirements:
Qualification in Healthcare, disability support or related field
Own transport with a clean and valid Restricted/Full driver’s license
Legitimate NZ work rights
A clean Police and VCA check
Able to work with young adult with challenging behaviour
Strong communication, time management and organizational skills
Professionally presentable and adaptable
Proactive in managing client’s daily tasks
Competency in PEG Feed
Proficient in delivering high quality personal care and home help support
Responsibilities:
Assist with daily tasks such as personal care, bathing, PEG feeding
Home help – Assist and encourage with all meals, help around home where needed such as making bed, tidying kitchen after use etc.
Community Outing – School pick-ups, Mondays meal prep using Bargain Box, Tuesdays Dance class, client goes swimming Wednesdays after school. Thursday community outing free choice, Friday Music therapy and Weekend free of choice (Sunday church)
Available Shifts:
During school holiday hours: 6hrs per day 7 days a week morning starts.
On a regular day of the year can be from 2hrs to 4hrs depending on days, afternoon starts usually after school
School holidays – Hours will increase and times will be different to regular days of the year
opportunity to pick up more shifts as they become available
