He angitūtanga: The opportunity As Chief Advisor Strategic Relations and Advisory you’ll be joining the lead team of the Group Strategy, Transformation and Partnership department, where our focus is to lead group direction setting, prioritisation and the strategic partnerships needed to deliver effectively and plan and implement organisational and system shifts.
It’s a unique opportunity with relationship and partnership building at its core. You’ll provide strategic advice to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on identified partnership opportunities, including with central government – working on joint priorities that lead to great outcomes for Aucklanders.
You’ll have a crucial role to play in driving key partner relationships, and seeing our partnership opportunities realised.
He kōrero mōu: About you You’ll bring experience as a politically savvy relationship builder, having worked on and influenced key policies, programmes or initiatives in a complex and changing policy or strategy environment.
You’ll understand investment models and the role philanthropic, government and non-profit entitles have, and bring experience in establishing new and innovative partnership models.
We’d also like to see the following:
Future focused thinking to drive organisational priorities and outcomes
Effective in building formal and informal relationships
Strong experience in policy development and strategic planning in a government environment
Significant experience in working directly with Ministers, Councillors and Chief Executives/senior managers and iwi leaders
The ability to communicate and influence at senior levels and a demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation and roles and responsibilities of Auckland Council
Demonstrated understanding of Tikanga Māori /te reo
