Fire Alarm Technician We are looking for Experienced Fire Alarm Technicians with background knowledge and experience with the following (but are not limited to):
Installation of fire alarm systems in various buildings including mounting alarms, detectors, control panels and other components
Inspection and testing of fire alarm systems to ensure they are in working order and to diagnose faults
Adjusting, repairing, and replacing worn and defective parts and wiring, and maintaining machines, equipment, components and instruments
Reassembling, testing, operating and adjusting systems, equipment and components
Routine maintenance to keep systems in good working condition
Troubleshooting and repairs - ability to diagnose the problem and make necessary repairs or install replacements
System Upgrades – ensuring existing systems are upgraded to meet current safety standards
Code compliance - using correct operating procedures to prevent malfunctions and to ensure that fire alarm systems are installed and maintained in compliance with relevant codes
Accurate record keeping – ensuring documentation is up to date and maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, maintenance activities and any repairs or upgrades made to systems
Ideally, you will be or have:
Minimum 3+ years’ experience
Trade qualifications preferred however scope and length of experience may substitute for the formal qualification
Full NZ Drivers Licence
At least 2 work references
