We are looking for an assistant centre cook to join our amazing team! As our assistant cook, you will be teaming up with our centre cook to whip up nutritious meals for our little ones!
This is a part time time role offering 25 hours from Monday – Friday, 9am – 2pm.

Our early education centre features six classrooms specifically designed for different age groups, fostering Tuakana/teina relationships and engaged tamariki. Our focus at Busy Bees Hobsonville lies in empowering tamariki to direct their own learning while ensuring they feel supported and safe. We offer a diverse range of open-ended and natural resources to encourage teachable moments and create happy, learning-focused experiences. Our kitchen is fully equipped with all the tools you need to cook up delicious food for our tamariki!
Our preferred candidate will be:
Experienced in cooking for large groups, be it in a childcare centre or other environment
Able to work well in a fast-paced environment, at times under pressure.
Fit and active, as this is a busy role
Excellent at communication and have skills to build rapport with parents & children
Flexible in approach, but also able to work to a daily schedule
A real team player with a "can do" attitude
The ideal candidate will possess a current Food Handling certificate and have prior experience preparing delicious meals for preschoolers. We are seeking an individual who aligns well with our values and holds a genuine interest in providing well-prepared, nutritious meals for our tamariki. As a versatile team player, you should be adaptable, as there may be occasions where you are required to assist on the floor and handle laundry duties.
