Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our team in Marton on a part time basis. The Contract Administrator plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the Rangitīkei Roading Maintenance contract and the Rangitīkei depot. As the first point of contact for visitors and clients, you will be a the “front house” and must possess a friendly, approachable, and professional demeanour. The role involves managing a range of administrative and contract support duties, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery, and maintaining compliance with Downer’s policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide efficient, friendly, and professional reception services for visitors to the depot
- Induct and direct visitors according to site requirements to ensure adherence to Zero Harm policies
- Offer administrative support to depot-based staff, including assisting with tender preparation, claims, and invoicing
- Support the procurement process, including tracking plant usage, processing purchase orders, and supporting the procure to pay process
- Assist with payroll tracking, the monthly claims process, and ensure accurate cost allocations for contract costs
- Ensure subcontract management, including sign-up, re-induction, and payment processes, are completed effectively and on time

To be successful in this role, you will bring with you:
- Experience using MS Office
- Proven experience providing high-quality administrative support
- Experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP systems is an advantage
- Excellent verbal communication, ability to relate to people at all levels
- Motivated, positive and outcome orientated
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment
