He angitūtanga / The opportunity:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Permanent Part Time Cook to work at our CHT David Lange site in Mangere East. Work a minimum of 22 hours per week, weekend work will be required.

We need someone who loves to help, has a sense of humour and who will enjoy being part of this onsite team. Food safety must be maintained at all times alongside high standards of cleanliness.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

In this position you will be responsible for;

  • Assisting with basic food preparation, cooking and serving of the resident's meals.
  • Assisting with sandwich preparation
  • Baking
  • Ensuring all requests are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.
  • Providing superb customer service to the sites residents
  • Assisting with general kitchen and cleaning duties.

If you're our ideal candidate;

  • You will be helpful and reliable, with high standards in personal presentation, and who enjoys working with the elderly
  • You will be a multitasker, organised, and hardworking, with a friendly outgoing personality and a 'can do' attitude
  • Ideally you will already have some experience working in a similar environment and hold a food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167), or be happy to be train for one
  • Ability to follow a recipe and baking would be an advantage
  • You will have superior customer service skills
  • Most importantly, you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality
