About Manaaki Tāngata, Victim Support

Manaaki Tāngata, Victim Support is there for people directly affected by crime, suicide and traumatic events, including their whānau and witnesses. They support people to feel informed, empowered and able to cope with the impact. Working closely alongside the police and other communities agencies they provide tailored and immediate support, practical assistance and guidence through the criminal justice system.

The Role

Madison Recruitment is seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator to join Manaaki Tāngata, Victim Support’s finance team. Reporting to the GM Finance, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions. This high-volume position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to providing excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.

In this role, you’ll support the finance team by managing invoicing, expense claims, and credit card reconciliations, as well as contributing to the timely processing of payments for the Victim Assistance Scheme (VAS). You will work closely with frontline teams and various stakeholders to ensure the effective operation of financial systems and support those who rely on the services provided by Manaaki Tāngata.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inputting invoices and processing expense claims, including mileage
  • Reconciliation of credit card transactions and supporting internal teams with DEXT processing
  • Contributing to the efficient operation of the Victim Assistance Scheme, including managing payments for flights and taxi charges
  • Assisting with the preparation of accountability information for funders
  • Supporting internal and external stakeholders with financial inquiries, ensuring a high level of customer service
  • Maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, and external parties


Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in finance, particularly in accounts payable and supplier management
  • High proficiency in Xero, with experience in financial systems like DEXT and Approval Max would be an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with advanced skills in pivot tables and data formatting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage high volumes of work while meeting deadlines
  • Highly organized, with a keen eye for detail
