BNZ Markets Technology is a small tīma (team) of experienced Developers directly supporting the BNZ Markets and Treasury businesses. Located on the Wellington trading floor with the business, the tīma builds and maintains a wide range of wholesale banking systems. We have an opportunity for a Senior Analyst Programmer to join our fast paced and complex wholesale banking environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior looking to broaden their experience, but we will also consider smart, ambitious junior or intermediate Developers.
This is a Wellington based hybrid role with three days in the office and two where you can work flexibly.

What are 5 day-to-day tasks the person in this role will complete?
This role is unusual in that we own the full software lifecycle:
Direct contact with the business users to discuss requirements.
Coding
Testing of the solution.
Releasing of the solution.
Support - We provide 24/7 support via a tīma support rota (Normally, the staff member is on after-hours support for two weeks at a time about every 3 months)
What is the tīma culture and environment like?
Hard working but friendly.
What projects/mahi (work) will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?
We always have a number of projects on the go which can take anything from a few days to a few months and can be a mix of maintenance and green field.
What is your management style?
Hands off. Normally, each person self manages their own projects.

What technical skills are REQUIRED for this role?
Good Java and SQL with the ability and desire to ako other technologies as required.
