Mō te tūranga | About the Role
As a Risk Analyst within the Risk Analytics team, your key responsibility will be to deliver insights into portfolio performance, asset quality, and credit risk. You will monitor key metrics, assess credit quality, and identify emerging trends, shifts in portfolio concentrations, and potential risk exposures. Additionally, you will assess the portfolio's risk profile and proactively highlight areas of concern to ensure informed risk mitigation and enhance overall portfolio stability.
Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end portfolio analysis and reporting, including data collection and interpretation, performance monitoring, trend and movement analysis, and the generation of comprehensive reports.
- Track key metrics, identify emerging trends, and communicate insights into portfolio performance and risk to stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Compare actual performance against benchmarks or targets and provide regular assessments of portfolio health.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Risk Management, Risk Analytics, Finance, WBC and other areas, to support broader Portfolio Insights and Risk Analytics initiatives.
- Ensure that the portfolio remains compliant with relevant risk management frameworks and regulatory changes.

- SQL or SAS coding experience is essential.
- Exceptional numerical analysis, logical and interpretative skills (essential)
- Familiarity with Credit products (preferred)
- Experience in credit risk reporting and quantitative analysis related function (preferred)
- Experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SAS Visual Analytics (preferred)
- Strong SAS (Enterprise Guide) and/or SQL computer language experience, including ability to query and manipulate large data
- Applied data analysis skills
- Outstanding report writing skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral, including articulating complex analysis to non-analytical people and presenting to senior stakeholders
- Self-driven with ability to anticipate requirements
- A drive for industry-leading performance and constant improvement including task automation
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across the business
- Undergraduate degree in a statistical, mathematical, economics or related field is preferred and willingness to raise ideas
