Job Description

The Role

Fisher & Paykel is an iconic New Zealand brand, a global company with a strong local heritage. Our origins inspire our culture of curiosity and passion to develop solutions designed around people - these are some of the core elements that make us unique. We are driven by our values of being trusted, sustainably minded, innovative, generous, and curious.

As a team we take a collaborative approach and have a working environment where all ideas are heard, evaluated, and tested against our leading goal - to be the world's most human-centred appliance brand.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Health & Safety Business Partner with a consultative and advisory approach with influencing skills that will win the hearts and minds of our people. Driving a culture where everyone has an innate sense of their responsibility takes a great deal of skill. We believe everybody is accountable for safety – individually and as a collective. Our primary aim is to keep people safe from harm and this includes everyone who works for us, with us, and anyone who may be affected by our activities.

Based at our East Tāmaki Design Centre you’ll report to the Global Health & Safety Manager and be part of a small, dedicated team. Responsible for Health and Safety across New Zealand, your stakeholders and customers are varied; Distribution, Engineering, Technology, Customer Experience, Experience Centre and Driver & Installation teams, not forgetting our office-based and mobile workforce.

There’s plenty of excitement and challenge in our work programme for the years ahead as we continue to embed our new H&S management system and optimise its value in our decision making and risk management, a new distribution warehouse at East Tamaki and an entirely new Auckland Head Office in Penrose. Our workplaces and worker profiles change all the time, and we need you to help us stay ahead of all of it.

That's the role, so who are you?

We are looking for a special person. You will be passionate about health and safety and have demonstrated success working in a complex and dynamic workplace. Key to success in this role is an ability to demonstrate success in influencing and driving the right behaviours across the business to ensure we meet our goals. You're well networked, proactive and passionate about ensuring people get home safe every day.

As an experienced H&S professional, you'll be comfortable working alongside all levels of leaders to build a safety culture and supporting them in general health and safety activities; incident and injury management, meeting internal standards, and audits just to name a few. You will have sound technical knowledge of health and safety. A level IV Health & Safety Certificate is desirable, but not essential.

What we offer

We can give you the rare opportunity to move into a large, complex global organisation headquartered in NZ, where you will gain wide exposure across the business. This role has diverse and exciting challenges and the chance to continually learn and develop.

Along with a competitive salary, flexible working, ongoing development, as a valued member of our team you’ll enjoy generous discounts on Fisher & Paykel and Haier products, life & disability insurance. Access to our company superannuation plan, discounted medical cover, our leading Whanau/Family leave offering, our subsidised staff café, and free car parking when you are on-site.

All this, coupled with great leadership and backed by a world leading heritage brand that is consistently ranked as one of New Zealand’s most Trusted Brands… year after year.
