As a senior member of ASB's Financial Crime operations team you will help protect ASB and it's customers from the impact of Financial Crime. You will contribute in a meaningful way to the protection of Aotearoa New Zealand from organised crime, modern slavery, extreme right-wing groups, and other activity which places New Zealand at risk.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager within our Customer Risk team.

Mo te tūranga | About the Role:

  • Lead a high performing team of Financial Crime Managers and Team Leaders to mitigate the risks associated with Enhanced Customer Due Diligence.
  • Lead, advise and partner Group wide to implement and develop strong frameworks, best practice and innovation.
  • Collaborate with senior internal, and external stakeholders on sensitive matters including live organised crime investigations, national security matters, terror financing and insider threat to ensure best outcomes.
  • Leverage critical external and internal relationships to enable ASB to make the best possible informed decisions on its financial crime risk management.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and implementation of Financial Crime risk management Group wide, including representing FCO's interests at internal forums.
  • Lead, develop, promote and implement efficient and cost-effective management of Financial Crime obligations and protocols.


Mōu |About you:

  • Proven experience in a senior management role within financial crime, fraud detection, or a similar field, preferably within a financial institution or regulatory environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of New Zealand's financial crime regulations, including AML/CFT (Anti-Money Laundering/Countering Financing of Terrorism), fraud detection, and investigation methodologies.
  • Advanced SME knowledge and training in AML, ideally specific to ECDD risk management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
