About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has come about for an Infants Head Teacher to join our team at our modern early learning centre, BestStart Birkdale.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Teacher to lead our Infants room, catering to up to 25 infants across two rooms in our high-occupancy centre. Our philosophy centers on fostering a warm, welcoming environment where children can explore and grow at their own pace, with a focus on people, belonging, and relationships.
As Head Teacher, you will mentor your team, ensure compliance, and champion a child-led, play-based approach. The ideal candidate will have prior Head Teacher experience, strong knowledge of ECE regulations, and Full Teacher Certification. This is a permanent position working 40 hours Monday-Friday
Role requirements:
We're looking for a natural leader who shares our values and vision who has a good understanding of programme planning and assessment as well as a drive and passion for growth. As well as:
- B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification
- A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum
- Good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
- Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
