The Assurance Group is seeking a highly skilled individual to increase capability within the Protective Security workstream. Working as part of the wider Strategy and Performance Group, the Senior Assurance Advisor: Site Security Systems will report to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and will ideally be based at Police National HQ in Wellington, however other locations will be considered.

The Senior Assurance Advisor will be primarily responsible for management and oversight of Police’s National Electronic Access Control System (NEACS) and related security services. Delivering a programme of work to maintain the currency and integrity of the system, the Senior Advisor will also be known as the “go-to” for support and guidance nationally to Police’s cohort of site administrators and Protective Security Leads and other stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who asks the right questions - for example, seeks to understand how a District site functions in order to support the provision of access that is not only fit for purpose operationally, but is in line with Protective Security Requirements (PSR) to keep our people, workplace, information, assets safe and secure.

Day to day, the Senior Assurance Advisor will engage with District protective security leads, site administrators, ICT experts and security providers amongst other stakeholders. The Senior Assurance Advisor will also be required to provision access for designated sites, provide support to other site administrators nationally, troubleshoot problems and issues, regularly engage with the Administrator community of practice group and key stakeholders as well as provide more general PERSEC and PHYSEC related guidance and advice in line with the PSR.

Furthermore, the Senior Assurance Advisor will also contribute to the wider Assurance Group work plan.

  • Provide oversight of the service delivery and performance of security provider/s in line with the Master Services Agreement.
