We are currently on the lookout for an experienced and enthusiastic Cook to join us at Victoria University in Wellington. This position is a Permanent full-time role with a minimum of 30 hours per week during the education terms. We offer flexible working hours and conditions to suite your lifestyle! Our Cooks are at the very heart of what we do. Hundreds of thousands of people around New Zealand rely on us every day to provide their breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

  • Preparing bulk meals for university students
  • Assist with ordering and stock rotation
  • Complying with Food safety standards
  • Assisting with general kitchen and cleaning duties


He kōrero mōu / About you:

If you're our ideal candidate;

  • You will be a team player, passionate about food and have excellent time management skills.
  • You will have outstanding customer service and be flexible, with a friendly outgoing personality and a 'can do' attitude.
  • Having the ability to work proactively both independently and as part of a team is essential, as is a minimum 2 years' experience as a Cook/Chef.
  • Ideally you will have previous experience working in a commercial kitchen environment and hold a food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167).
  • You will be a pro at Health & Safety
  • Most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
