About the Role:

• Ensure the safety of all residents within the halls of residence
• Identify potential risks and take action to mitigate these
• Support residents ensuring their needs are met and providing assistance as needed.
• Create a supportive environment for students living in the halls
• Ensure the rules are enforced consistently and fairly, balancing a friendly, supportive approach with firmness as needed.
• Incident and daily reporting
• Building strong relationships and working with stakeholders including wider accommodation team and campus security.
• Assisting with emergency response as needed, coordinating with emergency services.

About You:

• Have Security &/ or Customer Service experience and a Green COA Security License is desirable, however if not & you are the right person, we can help you obtain one if you are 18 years old or over, have a clean criminal record & eligible to work in NZ.
• Flexibility – must be available to work at least one weekend day each week & cover shifts when required.
• Ability to work under pressure and reliable, confident & honest.
• Strong communication skills to be able to interact and communicate with the client and take directives.
• Possess the ability to engage & build relationships with a diverse range of people.
• Possess empathy and a genuine commitment to the wellbeing of people.
• Possess a professional work ethic and desire to take responsibility.
• Strong focus on delivering high quality security-solutions.
• Excellent verbal & written English communication skills and attention to detail.
• Physical fitness – able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
