BestStart Mosgiel is housed in two cosy converted houses with an inviting, large playground with beautiful mature trees on the Taieri Plains in Mosgiel. We have a strong focus on outdoor learning. Our children can explore freely and have fun in a variety of learning spaces to learn through all their senses using exploration, investigation and challenging experiences. Children are viewed as taonga (treasures) and their holistic way of being and learning is honoured here.

About the Role:
Whether you are a newly qualified teacher or an experienced educator, if you have a passion for teaching young children, we want to hear from you. This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week Monday-Friday.
You will be based in our Pikiwara Room (Under Twos), a dedicated space for our youngest children where we provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can explore and discover at their own pace. We recognise the importance of nurturing trusting relationships and teachers provide this through loving, caring interactions in our every-day routines.
Role requirements:
Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. We are looking for the following:
- B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current Teacher Certification
- Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning
- Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
- A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices
- Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
