He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga | About the role Access Community Registered Nurses work in the community, carrying out social and clinical assessments, developing and overseeing support plans and mentoring and verifying the competence of our support workers. They review the effectiveness of our Access service to ensure that we provide safe, effective care and support to our clients.
Autonomous, client focused role
Utilise all your health and social skills in support of palliative clients in the community
Full time, based in Christchurch
Work within the community as a Palliative Care Nurse and enable clients to remain in their homes during the end stages of life
Previous palliative experience is desirable
This role is varied and includes symptom management, end of life care, psychosocial support, advocacy & liaising with MDT to facilitate care.

Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga | Skills and experience
Registered Health Professional with a current practising certificate.
Experience in long term conditions or medical nursing highly desirable
Excellent verbal communication skills, coupled with a caring nature and the ability to connect and interact within a multi-cultural environment.
Intermediate level computer and on-line information recording skills.
The ability to plan and organise assignments effectively, to establish priorities and meet deadlines in a demanding, client focused environment.
Have a positive, resilient, flexible and adaptable personality
A high level of interpersonal, assessment and communication skills
A current full driver's license is essential
A demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the workplace
Actively demonstrates the ability and desire to show cultural sensitivity, awareness and understanding of diversity.
