About the Role:
As a reputable, leading recruitment company seeking reliable Class 2 Truck Drivers to join a dynamic team in Penrose, Auckland, on a full-time, temp/contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in the industrial sector with a company that prioritizes safety, efficiency, and reliability. The position involves driving a manual truck.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Class 2 manual trucks to transport materials and equipment to and from job sites and facilities
- Safely load and unload materials, ensuring proper securing during transport
- Assist with setting up and operating related equipment
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and efficient work environment
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring vehicles are in optimal condition
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure timely project completion and deliveries
- Maintain accurate records, including timesheets and material logs
- Communicate regularly with dispatch and team members to coordinate deliveries and overcome logistical challenges
- Perform heavy lifting tasks, including manual handling of materials up to 25 kilograms when necessary
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 2 driver's license with a clean driving record
- Dangerous Goods (DG) license (preferred)
- Proven experience driving manual heavy trucks, particularly in an industrial environment (e.g., transporting large materials or equipment)
- Physical ability to handle tasks such as loading, unloading, and securing materials
- Strong understanding of safety practices, both in driving and in an industrial environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour when required
