Senior HVAC/Refrigeration Technician Are you an experienced Senior HVAC/Refrigeration Technician looking for a new opportunity in Wellington? We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our client in a workshop-based environment, working within the Rail industry. As a Senior HVAC & Refrigeration Technician, you will play a vital role in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems, while ensuring strict compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities:
Perform hands-on repairs, installation, and maintenance of HVAC systems in compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 standards
Use diagnostic tools to determine and implement effective repair plans
Ensure all work is carried out with high quality, minimising downtime and rework
Maintain accurate documentation and manage refrigerant handling in accordance with regulations
Conduct internal training and drive continuous improvement across the team
Ensure a clean, organised workshop environment
Skills & Experience:
Essential: Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (or near completion) and 5+ years’ experience
Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC/refrigeration systems, including leak detection
Strong knowledge of refrigerant management and electrical control systems
Proficiency with technical tools and diagnostic equipment
A current Refrigerant Handling Licence and commitment to safety and compliance
Ability to work independently, solve complex issues, and meet deadlines
Forklift licence is desirable
