The purpose of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) group is to work in partnership with the rest of the organisation to provide digital technology and communications solutions that support excellence in policing and service delivery and enable Police’s strategic ambitions.

With a primary hub in Wellington, and a presence throughout the country, we deliver new and enhanced solutions directly and through specialist vendor partnerships. We provide expert advice on how technology can be leveraged to support Police’s strategies and turn concepts into reality through collaborative development.

With Police ICT moving to a product model, the Collaboration & Email team are tasked with delivering new initiatives using Microsoft modern tools as well as providing ongoing support & maintenance. Reporting to the Technical Product Owner, you will be working in an Agile product delivery model where the key focus will be delivering a modern collaboration experience for NZ Police.

The Senior Microsoft 365 Administrator is responsible for providing technical and functional direction and 2nd/3rd level support for Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Power Platform for NZ Police.

The environment being maintained covers the day-to-day management of these Microsoft services for NZ Police, to ensure service integrity, reliability, and performance at optimal efficiency. The Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Administration centres provides the Microsoft 365 capability that supports operational policing and is a core service for the entire organisation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Be involved in planning, delivering, and maintaining Microsoft SaaS using Agile methodologies.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to understand organisation goals and deliver business value.
  • Monitor and maintain an overview of the Microsoft Online Services for NZ Police and take action as appropriate to ensure continuity and availability of services.
  • Contribute to the Product Roadmap for Collaboration and Email assisting the Technical Product Owner to deliver value for business groups.

  • Advanced experience in Microsoft collaboration and Entra products including M365, Entra ID, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, Volume Licensing
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to translate technical and non-technical information to a range of audiences.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strong focus on end-to-end ownership of issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of security, architecture and change management within a government agency.
  • Experience working in a product team using Agile methodologies to deliver business value.
  • ITIL v4 & Agile Fundamentals preferred

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $102,808 and $108,894 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
