Mō te tūnga | About the role
The DevOps Lead is a pivotal role responsible for guiding and overseeing the implementation of DevOps practices within the organization. This includes developing and maintaining DevOps processes, governance structures, and policies, ensuring they align with industry standards and best practices. The DevOps Lead will monitor and optimize performance, integrating these practices across the development lifecycle. A key part of this role is to provide leadership and support to DevOps Enablement Engineers, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and innovation. The DevOps Lead will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, such as development, quality analysts, change management, incident response, security, and operations teams, as well as engage with senior management to align DevOps strategies with organizational goals.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead DevOps practices, ensuring safe, secure and efficient CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
  • Mentor and develop team capabilities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align DevOps strategies with organizational goals.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues and integrate security best practices into all processes.
  • Drive adoption of modern tools and methodologies, staying head of industry trends to optimize delivery.

  • Demonstrate proven expertise in DevOps practices, tools and cloud platforms.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to coach teams, drive transformational change and integrate DevOps practices across development, security, and operations.
  • Showcase strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with experience analysing complex issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field with advanced certifications in DevOps, cloud technologies or security (desirable)


This role is set at Strategic Leader level, this means your key purpose is “to lead the strategy, Our Business, and enable our people to deliver it”.
