Severe weather in early 2023 has deeply impacted communities across Tāmaki Makaurau. Auckland Council is partnering with the government to ensure safety and provide certainty.
The Recovery Office is searching for a full-time, fixed-term Programme Manager for 12 months.
Reporting to the Head of Homes & Houses Recovery, this role is critical for supporting our category 2P programme for the weather-affected homes that meet our grant criteria for repairs.
As a Programme Manager, you will manage the homeowner grant applications, technical approvals and compliance with the 2P scheme terms. You will work with stakeholders for the duration of the grant application and programme delivery.
You could expect to work on:
• Provide technical advice to internal stakeholders, homeowners and suppliers
• Approve grant submission applications: manage any disputes that arise
• Monitor and report progress & financial status of the scheme
• Programme reporting against budgets, targets and forecasting.
• Managing the team to effectively deliver the grant programme outcomes
He kōrero mōu: About you
We are looking for an individual who is deeply committed to the recovery efforts of Tāmaki Makaurau. You are comfortable working autonomously, making decisions and seeking advice when necessary.
Ideally, you will have practical and commercial experience in managing people, construction, property or housing and can provide the strong leadership required to navigate through the complexity of the 2P grants for homeowners.
You may come from a consultancy background or have worked for organisations with significant investment in property.
We are specifically looking for:
• Track record of successfully developing and delivering complex work programmes
• Expert knowledge and understanding of land development, construction, regulatory infrastructure, social and natural environment issues and challenges relating to Recovery
• Knowledge of key legislation, industry frameworks, policy and climate disclosures relevant to application review and approvals of grant schemes.
• Well-versed in writing and reviewing technical or political reports that can be understood by a range of audiences, significant budget management
• Background in flooding & Geotech projects would be an advantage
