Mō te tūranga | About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager Technology and Resilience, you will be responsible for enterprise oversight and monitoring of Operational Risks across the bank. The primary focus of your role will be to support the independent review, challenge and provision of advice to facilitate a strong, embedded risk culture that optimises risk / reward decision making and supports the delivery of the business’ strategic objectives.
You will ensure that high quality and timely Second Line oversight and monitoring is delivered for operational risks. You will act as a conduit between Risk and the Business as a trusted adviser to encourage maturing of risk culture and disciplines. A key aspect of your role will be to build strong partnerships across the business and provide well-balanced, researched, and insightful advice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support development and maintenance of Operational Risk policies and support collateral, and policy compliance monitoring.
- Develop management insights to support continuous maturity uplift across Operational Risk management.
- Lead risk reviews across material risks and business processes.
- Provide proactive and pragmatic risk support and advice to the business and support the resolution of complex issues with a wide range of stakeholder across the bank.
- Risk business partnering.

- Risk Management or relevant experience
- Experience in financial services industry preferred
- Experience with risk framework and policy design and implementation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, data visualisation, and the ability to communicate concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
- Demonstrable ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, lead, and influence decisions and actions of others, including internal business partners, external stakeholders, and senior management
