The Company
Is an employee-owned multi-disciplinary practice offering tailored consultancy services across Architecture, Building Services, Civil Engineering, Land Development, Planning, Environmental and Structural disciplines throughout New Zealand.

They have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate or Senior Façade Engineer to join their team in Auckland.

In this role you will work collaboratively within a multi-discipline environment, to provide expert advice and assist the delivery of high-quality technical reports.

The Role

  • Supporting the Associate Principal External Envelopes for input into project bids/tenders.
  • Ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to prescribed quality.
  • Maintaining regular contact with clients and consenting authorities.
  • Liaising with the client or other project disciplines concerning issues relating to the façade scope.
  • Working with the architect to develop concept details of a façade system to suit the required aesthetic, building type, building use and local climate and generate details for tender of the façade package.
  • Developing preliminary engineering design and checks of façades and steel structures/architectural features.
  • Carrying out site inspections of façade installation where required.
  • Generating concise, clear, accurate technical written reports and provide engineering support for peer reviews.


About You

  • Bachelor of Engineering.
  • Quality engineering design ability, and strong knowledge of technical specifications.
  • In-depth knowledge of building envelope materials such as glass, aluminium, waterproofing membrane, sealants, brick veneer, stone cladding, etc.
  • Process planning and quality control – ensuring systems and processes are efficient and reflect company quality and high-level service.
  • Excellent communication skills - written and spoken.
  • Attention to detail and ability to solve problems.
  • In-depth understanding of the glass and façade industry.
  • The ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Self-motivation and reliability.
  • A desire to continue to personally and professionally develop.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant engineering experience - locally or internationally.
