Job Description

Behavioural Specialist (Psychologist)

Location: South Auckland area

Hours: 16 hrs/week (0.4 FTE) (Perm/Contract/Fixed Term)

Role Overview:
Assessment and development of behavioural plans for children with disabilities (mainly ASD), as well as staff training. Ideal for an independent contractor or a graduate with some experience. This autonomous role involves client-facing time and participation in multi-disciplinary meetings within RDNS and with third parties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional assessments and develop behaviour support plans.
  • Provide timely intervention recommendations.
  • Apply evidence-based, strength-based, and culturally considerate approaches.
  • Train and educate support staff, establishing clear performance expectations.
  • Coach and support the team to maximize Tamariki/Rangatahi independence.


Qualifications:

  • Registered with the Board of Psychologists under the general scope of practice.
  • Board Certified Behaviour Analyst or eligible to sit the exam.
  • 2+ years' experience in a related field.
  • Commitment to ngā tikanga me te reo Māori.
