Junior Gardener

About the Role: The ideal candidate will have a love for nature and gardening, eager to contribute to the daily maintenance and upkeep of beautiful gardens and lawns. As a Junior Gardener, you will be responsible for a variety of essential outdoor tasks, ensuring the gardens remain healthy and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform garden maintenance tasks for Hobbit Holes, including planting, pruning, weeding, fertilising, irrigation, and spraying.
• Mow lawns, weed-eat, trim hedges, and maintain vegetable gardens and containers.
• Assist with nursery tasks such as sowing, potting, and irrigation.
• Support winter projects like revegetation and landscaping.
• Complete tasks efficiently within set timeframes.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and contractors.
• Ensure proper work practices and safety are followed by others, reporting any issues to the Supervisor.
• Maintain gardening tools and equipment, ensuring they’re safe and in good condition.

This role requires the following:

• A genuine interest in gardening and horticulture
• Previous gardening experience is a plus, but not essential
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks
• Knowledge of plant care and maintenance is an advantage
• A proactive attitude with attention to detail
• Full driver’s license essential

This is a full-time role with early morning starts and a full clean driver's license and reliable transport is essential.
