We are looking for a creative customer service superstar to permanently join our Kaikohe Library team.

We are seeking a dynamic person who loves working with the community. Success in this role is all about connecting our customers with library services, programmes and events, and with each other. If you're a true 'people-person' who loves a busy role where no two days are the same, this is the job for you! .

The role is 32 hours per fortnight including Thursday and Friday.

You will enjoy talking about the latest great read, leading afterschool programing, and supporting our community with their technology needs.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working in libraries, or in busy front-facing customer service or educational roles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop positive working relationships
  • Enthusiastic commitment to customer service excellence
  • Awareness of the modern library environment
  • Sound digital literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office - particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong drive to get the best outcomes for our communities
  • A progressive mindset focused on continual improvement and evolution of services
  • Excellent work ethic & communication
  • Awareness of the modern customer services environment
  • A current full drivers licence
  • NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa

The salary from this position is Grade 10 within Council's salary structure ($55,831 - $65,684 gross per annum pro rata) dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi Saver.
