Role Purpose:
The Service Manager will drive innovation, quality improvement, equity, and workforce development in mental health services, positioning the organisation as a sector leader. Key responsibilities include:
Innovation and Service Delivery:
- Identify and engage with innovative ideas, seeking global best practices in mental health services
- Foster partnerships to implement leading-edge practices in the sector
Continuous Quality Improvement:
- Use LEAN methodology to enhance mental health services
- Leverage data to track and improve service delivery outcomes
Leadership in Performance and Accountability:
- Ensure compliance with Te Whatu Ora National Health targets and internal quality measures
- Actively address performance gaps and drive improvement
Equity and Māori Health Outcomes:
- Apply an equity lens in all initiatives, ensuring services promote Māori health outcomes
- Develop culturally responsive practices to address Māori community needs.
Workforce Development:
- Support the development of a diverse, skilled primary mental health workforce
- Facilitate student placements and internships, fostering the next generation of mental health professionals
Project Oversight:
- Oversee key initiatives, including Integrated Primary Mental Health and Addictions Services, the 18 to 25-year-old Integrated Therapies pilot, and national service development
