He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role:
As a DevOps Engineer in our Digital Services team, you'll be at the forefront of building and maintaining KiwiRail’s digital applications – especially within Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platforms.
This role blends hands-on development with system support. You’ll design new features, improve existing applications, and ensure reliable performance of our business-critical platforms. Whether it’s troubleshooting issues or optimising user experiences, you’ll make sure our digital tools work smoothly and efficiently for teams across KiwiRail.
You’ll also collaborate closely with technical teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders, contributing to projects, continuous improvement, and innovation.

We’re looking for someone who is technically skilled and a great team player. You'll bring:
- 4–5 years’ experience in JavaScript/C# development
- Strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platforms
- Proven ability to provide support for IT applications and troubleshoot issues
- Familiarity with ALM practices, version control, and deployment pipelines
- Understanding of ITIL, COBIT, or LEAN principles
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- A focus on safety, customer needs, and continuous improvement
Desirable:
- Microsoft certification
- Experience with system design or database concepts
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- A current New Zealand driver’s licence
