Job Description
Our Road Science business is New Zealand’s leading designer and supplier of bitumen and bitumen-based products for the civil contracting industry. With seven world-class bitumen manufacturing plants and storage facilities and 7 Asphalt Plants throughout New Zealand, we produce and supply a range of products from traditional offering such as bitumen, bitumen-emulsions, polymer modified bitumen, asphaltic concrete, right through to bespoke client specific solutions.

Due to internal movement, we are seeking a driven and organised individual to join our team as Asphalt Production Administrator.

Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

The Administrator plays a fundamental role within the Penrose based Asphalt Production team. In this busy and varied role, you will be tasked with ensuring administration functions are carried out to a consistently high level of service whilst striving for continuous improvement in our systems and processes.

Duties include:

  • Processing of purchase orders, goods receipting, invoices and payments
  • Review, reconcile and process supplier invoices to ensure timely and accurate data entry and cost monitoring ensuring costs are sitting in the correct cost codes
  • Provide administration and coordination to support the day-to-day operations with Production data input, material forecasting and sustainability reporting
  • Act as the Travel Co-ordinator for the Asphalt Plant staff nationwide
  • Assist with cash collection and outstanding debtors
  • Champion a Zero Harm culture by promoting and adhering to health and safety policies



The role offers responsibility and autonomy so you must be highly organised with plenty of initiative.



Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a confident and friendly approach
  • Previous experience in a high-volume administrative role
  • The flexibility to adjust daily tasks to align with business needs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications (essential)
  • Knowledge and experience of JD Edwards and Microsoft SharePoint is advantageous
  • Full Class 1 Drivers License is desirable but not essential
