The role and its duties
The Estimator is responsible for assessing vehicle damage, estimating repairs costs, and the allocation of and invoicing of repairs in line with the agreed repairs criteria framework.
The role focuses on accurately evaluating vehicle damage, estimate repair costs, apply the suitable repair methods, order the appropriate parts and process invoices within agreed criteria requirements in a timely and efficient manner.
Duties:
- Implement process and procedure to scope vehicle repairs efficiently and effectively and determine the feasibility of the repair versus the replacement of the damaged parts
- Responsible for all aspects of vehicle inspections and assessment of accident or collision damage to determine the extent of the damage
- Digitally record inspections, extent of the damage and estimate the cost of labour and parts to complete the repair process using the correct systems
- Ensure the correct allocation of the repairs and repair methods to the correct criteria
- Responsible for all parts selection and ordering to support the repair process
- Ensure all invoices and credits are processed
- Excellent communication skills required to accurately explain and be able respond to questions from the customer about the repair process
- Ensure all compliance and quality assurance requirements and regulations are followed
- Ability to build, support, and maintain relationships with key stake holders

- Relevant experience within the automotive collision repair industry
- High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and relationship management skills
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Well-developed coaching and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer literacy and experience with vehicle repair software
- A relevant qualification in the collision repair industry (desirable)
